A breakfast attendant works in a hotel and is responsible for the breakfast served to guests. Breakfast attendants oversee the setup and takedown of the breakfast buffet, as well as maintain the dining space, ensure food is available, accept payment, and provide any other guest services. They help with seating, delivering food and drinks to guests, manage the buffet, and clean tables in between guests. To guarantee that guests have a great breakfast experience, a breakfast attendant needs exceptional customer service and communication skills. A breakfast attendant’s shift begins early in the morning so that food is ready for service when breakfast begins. Experience in food service or a hospitality role is a plus.

We’re looking for a breakfast attendant with excellent people skills who is motivated and attentive to provide our guests with a memorable dining experience. You will be in charge of setting up and breaking down the breakfast buffet each morning while ensuring that fruits, bread, cereals, and bakery items are well stocked. Additional responsibilities include carrying coffee pots and beverages throughout the room, refilling guests’ cups and glasses as needed or requested, and removing used dishes and utensils. Breakfast Attendant responsibilities
  • Ensure setup is complete each morning for the breakfast buffet and fresh foods are always available during the service hours
  • Serve guests with food and drink orders while they are in the dining area and replenish as necessary
  • Clean the breakfast area, including the tables, chairs, and buffet bar as needed, and empty garbage
  • Remove plates and dishes from tables throughout the breakfast service using appropriate techniques for removing plates, glasses, and silverware promptly
  • Address visitor questions and requests promptly, courteously, and efficiently
  • Follow health and safety protocols to clean and sanitize service lines, beverage dispensers, and other equipment
Breakfast Attendant qualifications
  • Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification
  • Experience working in food service is preferred
  • Proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with guests and other team members
