Senior Attorney responsibilities
  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions
  • Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, and arbitration
  • Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses
  • Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws
Senior Attorney qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a law degree from an accredited law school (such as an LLM, JSD, or J.D. degree)
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a senior associate attorney
  • Member of state and local bar associations in good standing
  • Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
  • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
  • Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills
