Personal Injury Paralegal job summary

Our legal team needs a diligent, organized, and experienced personal injury paralegal. You will write briefs, create legal documents like affidavits, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and organize case files and other important material. To prepare a factual response to discovery, we need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records. Personal Injury Paralegal responsibilities
  • Produce legal documents, letters, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the supervision of a lawyer
  • Assist lawyers with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, aiding with client meetings, submitting motions, researching legal publications, and coordinating witnesses
  • Order, review, and summarize medical records for preparing factual response to discovery
  • Support family settlement conferences and mediation to avoid lawsuits
  • Negotiate liens, medical bills, and settlements with providers or insurance companies
  • Organize our case filing systems so that everything is properly categorized and simple to find, as well as perform other administrative tasks as necessary
Personal Injury Paralegal qualifications
  • Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm
  • Completion of a NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
