Legal Administrator responsibilities
  • Direct day-to-day office operations, provide administrative support for legal services, and enforce office procedures
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees to the firm
  • Oversee all employee benefits, such as health insurance enrollments and renewals, long and short term disability, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) and profit-sharing options
  • Communicate across departments ensuring contracts for office equipment, software, hardware, and office supplies are up-to-date
  • Initiate annual evaluation process for staff and follow through to completion
  • Organize firm-related meetings and events, including client appreciation events, which may occur off-site
Legal Administrator qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a two-year degree program in public administration, human resources, paralegal studies, or similar area is required - Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in a legal department as a legal administrative assistant, support staff, executive assistant, bookkeeper, legal assistant, or legal secretary is necessary - Similar experience as an office administrator or medical office management is also acceptable
  • Exceptional computer skills including MS Office (word, excel, and email) is crucial
  • Knowledge of the legal industry, (legal research, legal terminology, and case management practices) is valuable
  • Requires strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills and time management skills to effectively multi-task in this role
