Automotive Lube Technician job summary

Our busy shop is seeking an experienced lube technician to join our automotive service team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections. This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. Automotive Lube Technician responsibilities
  • Perform oil changes and fluid checks on customer vehicles, including draining and replacing engine oil, checking and filling transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids
  • Lubricate chassis components and check tire pressure and tread depth
  • Advise customers on additional recommended services based on mileage and vehicle history
  • Document all service procedures performed and parts installed or replaced
  • Maintain shop inventory by recording oil and parts usage and reordering supplies when needed
  • Clean the shop floor and all work areas, and ensure all safety regulations are followed
Automotive Lube Technician qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience as a lube technician or related automotive experience desired
  • Ability to operate vehicle lifts, tools, and other garage equipment safely
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong customer service skills
