Executive Chef responsibilities
  • Make decisions for daily culinary operations, including exceeding guest expectations and increasing revenue and profit
  • Create new and unique menu items and specials using various ingredients in an innovative way
  • Coordinate all kitchen food preparation, including processes, portioning, garnishing, and ensure that all meals and dishes are presented elegantly
  • Set and monitor performance criteria for team members, as well as provide advice and direction to support and maintain an efficient kitchen
  • Establish a collaborative environment for kitchen workers by educating recruits and hiring personnel that fit the corporate culture
  • Control department costs that are under your management, such as food, supplies, uniforms, and equipment, and work with vendors to get the best products at a cost-effective price
Executive Chef qualifications
  • Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
  • At least 7-8 years of culinary experience
  • Outstanding management abilities, as well as experience leading, inspiring, and building a team
  • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and other team members
