Our office is expanding and we’re looking for a medical assistant to help us provide first-class patient care! You’ll be responsible for greeting patients and scheduling appointments and work directly with our healthcare staff to record patient histories, collect test samples, and assist with examinations. Our ideal candidate preferably has some experience working in a medical office performing clinical tasks or in an administrative role and knows how to build an excellent rapport with people. Medical Assistant responsibilities
  • Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment
  • Discuss patient information, medical history, and the reason for their visit to share with the healthcare staff
  • Take the patient’s vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart
  • Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed
  • Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests under supervision
  • Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records
Medical Assistant qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completed an accredited medical assisting program and an externship in a supervised healthcare setting
  • prior experience as in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or similar position in a healthcare work environment is preferred
  • Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks
  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills
