Job Summary
Personal injury paralegals help lawyers with cases and lawsuits that involve an injury or accident that was caused by someone else. They organize and maintain files, update records, and manage correspondence. Paralegals also assist lawyers with ongoing cases and communicate with witnesses. They help lawyers prepare trial materials, do legal research, confirm trial facts, get witness statements, and make presentation materials. Paralegals should be familiar with legal vocabulary and case law. Certification as a paralegal is required, and experience in a personal injury law office is a plus.
