Construction attorneys provide legal services and counsel on all areas of construction law to construction companies, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, developers, and individuals. They use their knowledge of the construction industry to resolve and represent their clients in disputes at all stages of construction projects. They modify and create construction and government contracts and contractor agreements to protect their client from potential liability and payment issues. They research and thoroughly analyze the ideal course of action, and provide legal advice to their clients based on their situational needs. They prepare legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, and briefs, and try to prevent the need for litigation and arbitration through dispute resolutions for construction claims. When not in court or on construction sites, construction attorneys work full-time in an office environment. They may work with construction companies, law firms, municipalities, or developers.
