Web Content Manager - Drupal


Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, review, and modify content for online publication and distribution.
  • Select and prepare photos, graphics, and infographics for online publication.
  • Perform quality assurance, critical reviews, and proofing.
  • Write and maintain user documentation, Digital Style Guide, Prepare, edit, and publish video content.
  • Support development of new online publishing and communications materials, Support maintenance of Information Architecture.
  • Perform Drupal content and site administration tasks (e.g. replacing dead links, running 508 reports, and fixing 508 compliance issues).
  • Perform SharePoint content and site administration tasks (e.g. replacing dead links, running 508 reports, and fixing 508 compliance issues).
  • Create and update analytics and metric reports with analysis.
  • Provide suggestions on content creation, location, and strategy.
  • Coordinate homepage featured content updates (at least weekly). 
  • Organize content inventory and redirects (as needed).
  • Review Web traffic reports and site visitor surveys to improve site usability.
  • Assist with content syndication, organization of related content on other sites (e.g. Partners,).
  • Update and maintain digital communications SOPs.
  • Provide customer service/maintain positive customer relations.
  • Support and track the development of web standards.
  • Develop SharePoint enterprise and operating unit sites according to agency specifications.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience with Drupal CMS.
  • Proven track record of managing and publishing web content.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and other web coding languages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Expertise in web page markup.
  • Strong experience with Drupal CMS, content management workflow, web publishing.
  • Experience with web modernization initiatives preferred.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining SharePoint intranet sites.
  • Experience with web communications technologies (e.g. streaming media, Flash).
  • Clear understanding of Section 508 Compliance and web accessibility.
  • Skilled in working with and coordinating work across cross-functional teams consisting of multiple federal offices and contractors to update, test, and maintain government websites.
  • Experience writing for the web.
  • Experience managing content for science-based agriculture research organization preferred.
  • Experience developing taxonomies and other information architecture elements for science organizations.
  • Strong experience with content migration and Drupal CMS updates.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Drupal 9, experience planning for Drupal 9 to Drupal 10 upgrade preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal Plain Language Guidelines. 
  • Knowledge of web best practices.
  • Initiative and good judgment.
  • Skilled collaborator.
  • Ability to keep abreast of technology and editorial approach changes, highly organized.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and react quickly to shifting needs and priorities.

Compensation
