Great opportunity for Senior Estate and Trust paralegal for law practice in downtown Andover, MA

You will be responsible for drafting estate planning documents, probate court documents, compiling fiduciary accounts, Preparing Medicaid applications, maintaining all files, calendar management, and following up with clients, probate court, and MassHealth. You will also be "back-up" on the front lines booking appointments and screening phone calls.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare estate planning documents such as Wills, health care proxies, durable powers of attorney, and trusts; prepare probate pleadings including Petitions for Probate, Guardianship and Conservatorships, inventories and accounts,and follow-up with the Courts of probate matters; type forms 706, 709 under the direction of an attorney; obtain taxpayer-identification numbers where required; put together estate planning binders for clients
  • Draw deeds, trustee certificates, beneficiary certificates, and trust funding documents, including beneficiary designation forms; draw up real estate documents, file documents for recording at appropriate registries of deeds, file tax information sheets with appropriate taxing authorities
  • Electronic filing of real estate documents with the Registries or Deeds and Registries of Probate
  • Prepare and file Articles of Organization, maintain corporate books and order corporate kits as required

Qualifications

  • Skills: General computer and technological literacy; Fluency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); Adobe and Windows platform skills required; Experience with Lawmatics and Clio a plus
  • Keys to Success: The successful candidate will be a mature self-starter, who presents well and has excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation. Must be exceptionally well organized, pleasantly assertive, with superior attention to detail, and able to work with a minimum of supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience: Work in the legal industry related to trusts and estates a MINIMUM 5 years

Compensation
$65,000 - $75,000 yearly

We are an enterprising estates and trusts firm in Andover that is on track for growth, and we need an administrative assistant to join our team and work directly with the owner to help our clients. We are a lifestyle firm and believe in a work-life balance. Our current team consists of two attorneys and one legal assistant.
