The purpose of the Senior Accountant position is to manage the day-to-day transactions and provides recurring accounts analysis and reconciliation. The Senior Accountant handles the issuing of payments on both company and branch invoices, as well as the posting of funds and transactions associated with loan fundings and purchases. The Senior Accountant works regularly with branch and department managers along with third-party vendors and service providers. The Senior Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller and has regular interaction with the CFO. 

Account for Loan Transactions

• Create, modify and manage imports and entries on all loan fundings, purchases and estimated gain on sale
• Communicate with all departments as needed on any discrepancies to resolve
• Cash management analysis and treasury management

Account Analysis Maintenance

• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Provide Ad Hoc Analysis
• Audit accounts and payment history as needed
• Maintain records and documentation on accounts
• Provide reports and other company financials upon approved request

• Comfortable and capable of handling personal and confidential information
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Highly organized, self-starting, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable
• Efficient in time-management and ability to organize and prioritize tasks
• Technological savvy and comfort in learning new computer systems and programs

Education, Training Experience

• College degree required, B.A. in Accounting or similar
• Minimum of 2 – 4 years of previous mortgage banking accounting experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required
• Accounting for Mortgage Bankers (AMB) a plus
• CPA a plus
