Great summer into the fall gig selling cheese at local farmers markets on weekends, and some weekdays available. Pay is $18+ per hour. The farmers' market season runs from May through October. We're looking for people who enjoy working independently, talking with people, love great cheese, and are really dependable.
Weekend market positions are needed, and a few weekday shifts are available. It's an enjoyable gig, great for someone looking for something outdoors on the weekends.
A typical farmers market day involves waking up early, coming to our cold storage, loading the van with cheese and market supplies, driving to market, selling cheese at your market from around 7 am until 1 pm, driving back to the shop, and unloading. Days are 8 to 10 hours, depending on market duration and drive time. Some heavy lifting and standing 4 plus hours is involved. (Cheese is heavy!)
We have an amazing menu of Wisconsin Cheeses. A handful of friends work different regions of the country selling our cheeses at some of the best Farmers Markets. We started in Chicago and have expanded to Michigan, Colorado, and even Florida. We were asked by market managers in Milwaukee area markets to join and here we are. We have added a few more markets and need great quality people who love cheese to help out for the season.
