We are looking for the right person who can take a really solid staff and move them into a first-class food and beverage operation. Everything is in place, it just needs a talented and motivated Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing and organizing daily restaurant operations with the goal of controlling costs and providing a high-quality experience for customers
  • The Restaurant Manager ensures high profits and highly satisfied guests
  • Responsible for the coordination of serving staff training
  • Keep written instructions and procedures current
  • Maintain an accurate inventory
  • Work with management menu pricing; and POS buttons
  • Greet guests, help guests make selections, make drinks, run food, take payments as needed; and ensure the work areas stay clean and sanitized
  • The Restaurant Manager is also responsible for the coordination of restaurant reservations to optimize guest satisfaction and table turnover for optimal sales
  • Knowledge of other departments to better assist guests with a positive experience
  • Cross-training is expected
  • Maintaining working with the Chef on food costs and profitability as well as POS buttons and pricing
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are well-trained in the use of the POS and remote ordering devices, as well as menu items, recipes, customer service, and upsales
  • Oversees Waite Staff
  • Works with the Sales and Marketing Director on planning for special events as it pertains to service staffing, sales, and appropriate set-up
  • Monitors the POS and remote ordering devices for issues and works to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Coordinates the SilverWare Loyalty program: implementation, training, and monitoring with General Manager
  • Coordinates with the General Manager and Sales and Marketing Director to have pictures and descriptions of all menu items maintained in the POS system for staff reference and ensure consistency 
  • Ensures that the inventory for service items is well managed
  • Monitors the sales of all menu items looking for trends to ensure a current menu in line with the Hotel Sutter brand and standards

Qualifications

  • Education: Valid Responsible Beverage Service Training and Safe Food Handler Training
  • Experience: Two to four years of related experience
  • Meets state minimum age to make and serve alcohol
  • Resume and proven working experience as a bartender, server, and leader
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operating costs in accordance with budgets
  • Comfortable setting priorities and delegating tasks as needed
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented

Compensation
$60,000 yearly

Hotel Sutter is a historical building located in the heart of downtown Sutter Creek. We have a restaurant serving indoors, on our balcony as well as out front on our Pallet Cafe. We have 2 bars one located in our lobby and another downstairs known as our Copper Room. We also have a fully functioning 21 room hotel on our 2nd and 3rd floors. We pride ourselves in providing the best service with a smiling face to our many local guests as well as our year-round tourists.
