We are a small law firm located in Edmond, Oklahoma, with five full-time attorneys and support staff. We plan to grow aggressively. We expect that there will be some bumps in the road. We will be implementing new policies and procedures, and revisions of our policies and procedures when they fail to achieve our goals as efficiently as we hoped or when we have outgrown them. You will need to be able to adapt to these changes and our growing pains. You will need to be able to suggest improvements for our systems to make our office run more efficiently. You should only apply if you are a person that can adapt to change and wants to make our whole team better.

You must be a positive person. You should apply if you are a person who has a positive attitude or don't easily feel like you are being attacked. When you are conducting business on behalf of the firm, you will be the representative of our firm to everyone you come in contact with. You must be able to talk to people in a manner that is polite, educated, and puts them at ease. You can’t talk down to the people you deal with, nor should you get angry quickly.

You will need to be comfortable communicating with clients, court staff, and other persons or entities via telephone, email, and in person. You will need to have a caring attitude and a passion for helping people. You should apply if you have these criteria and want to serve clients and the community.

Proficiency and comfort with technology are important. A basic understanding of Microsoft Word is a requirement. Experience using Macs and Clio Practice Management is preferred, but not required. You should apply if you are comfortable with technology.

With regard to compensation, it is negotiable based upon experience and is subject to review after 90 days. Your ability to work effectively and efficiently will lead to your ability to take on more responsibility and make more money. The starting salary for our Receptionist is $30,000 per year. Of course, if you are a receptionist with years of experience we are willing to discuss compensation to match your qualifications. Additionally, all support staff takes every other Friday afternoon off.

Responsibilities

  • Speak to potential new clients to identify whether they are qualified leads through a series of questions to help identify A+ clients, identify the correct legal issue, and gauge urgency/motivation
  • Schedule qualified leads for initial consultation (sales call)
  • Initiate potential new client pre-engagement glide path in our case management software and manage follow-up system with potential clients
  • Prepare salesperson with all necessary information for successful conversation/consultation
  • Follow-up with potential new clients and address their unique pain points and concerns

Qualifications

  • Full familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Sales or customer service experience highly valued
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous legal experience a plus
  • Excellent and empathetic verbal and written communication skills required
