Our real estate team is rapidly expanding and we’re in need of a part-time real estate Controller. We are anticipating that this will require 24 hours per week. You’ll keep our financial records organized by reviewing accounts payable and receivable and preparing detailed account reconciliations. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves putting things in order and wants to take charge of implementing efficient accounting protocols.

The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable, based on known relationships with people and well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency are built through the structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. • Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
• Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
• Prepare for quarterly reporting using standard best practices and complete monthly closings
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Post detailed journal entries to the general ledger to streamline the reconciliation process
• Communicate with all vendors, partners, and staff regarding payments and financial records to ensure bills are paid promptly
• Input records into the computer to make sure financial data is filed accurately

• Background in real estate preferred

• Ideal candidate has 2 to 5 years of experience in the field
• High school diploma or equivalent is required Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
• Proficient with Quickbooks accounting software
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
• Attention to detail
• Able to work well with senior executives and team
