Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Probate and Trust Administration

Responsibilities

Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and proofreading Probate pleadings, Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and other legal documents
  • Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in electronic filing systems
  • Engaging and communicating with clients via phone, email, Zoom, and face-to-face meetings
  • Demonstrating and explaining solutions and administration/ court processes to clients
  • Serving as a witness and signing multiple documents daily
  • Contributing to all aspects of successful and thorough closing of client files
  • Providing general administrative assistance, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, sending correspondence, and copying documents

Qualifications

About You

You have a minimum of two years of experience in a law firm. Estate planning and probate experience are highly preferred. You have very strong attention to detail and processes and bring enthusiasm to the office and with clients. A strong desire to learn and motivation to make a positive impact on clients and the firm will serve you well. You enjoy interacting with clients on the phone as well as in person. You enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Must have probate law experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 2+ years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
  • Have a current Texas Notary Commission or be willing to apply for one
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of WealthCounsel and LawYaw - automated drafting systems - a plus
  • Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
  • A background check will be conducted

Compensation
$46,000 - $55,000 yearly at plan
