The Payroll Accounts Payable Generalist position is an analytical position that requires experience, attention to detail, and strong data entry mathematical skills. This position provides the administrative duties that are necessary to pay the obligations of the company. The Accounts Payable Generalist is responsible for reviewing and processing invoices and payments to vendors daily by following the established procedures with accuracy in a timely manner. This position will also be responsible for the timely processing of weekly payroll as well as a backup for HR administrative functions as related to 401K benefits.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities/Physical Demands

  • Completes payroll processing and/or delegates the administrative tasks associated with the payroll function of Human Resources
  • Serves as backup for HR administrative functions as it relates to employee compensation and benefits administration including 401K
  • Process and track standard corporate payables invoices
  • Maintain vendor relations and proactively participate in account reconciliation
  • Monitor all vendor invoices for accuracy in accordance with contract terms or agreements
  • Respond appropriately to email inquiries from the vendor, client, and/or internal customers
  • Reconciles customer credit card payments
  • Facilitates payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Answers the phone in a courteous manner
  • Meet expectations for month-end closing
  • Recognize trends in work processes and recommend process improvement
  • Review and research vendor disputes, statements, and old invoices to resolve issues
  • Communicate with Accounting Manager and Accounts Receivable team members to ensure transactions are coded and posted according to policy
  • Complete additional accounting and administrative projects as delegated by department management

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively respond, both written and verbal
  • Multi-tasker with strong organizational skills
  • Critical and analytical thinking abilities with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work within deadlines and utilize resources to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to take direction and implement changes
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment and maintain a positive attitude
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience

 

Compensation
$19 - $23 hourly
