We’re seeking a positive, personable customer service representative for a rewarding career opportunity here in our University City office location! You’ll connect with new people, tackle tough problems, and raise the bar on an excellent customer experience. We welcome applicants who are interested in upward mobility, a positive work environment, and can’t wait to get started! This is position is 15-20 hours per week and is an in-office position.

Responsibilities
  • Follow scripts when managing challenging customer issues and escalate to the appropriate party when needed
  • Reply to incoming calls from customers including products and service questions, general information, and complaints
  • Create records of customer interactions and follow up to ensure all questions have been answered
  • Identify common customer issues and bring them to the attention of the team
  • Make sure each customer’s complaint is addressed with care and precision to achieve full customer satisfaction

  • Become proficient with the total Farm Bureau program and benefits in order to answer questions and/or refer members to the appropriate contacts. More in-depth participation in these activities may be required
  • Obtain an in-depth understanding of property and casualty insurance
  • Attend training classes as needed for professional development and to perform assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency. (Travel may be required)
  • Develop skills with word processing software and spreadsheet software to perform tasks to assist in the day-to-day operation of the office
  • Handle basic administrative duties such as filing, incoming mail, etc.
  • Develop a proficient knowledge base of the mainframe, PC, and Internet systems used in order to provide customer service and assistance to members/insureds
  • Process pending and 2nd requests for all lines of business according to established procedures
  • Be proficient in taking information for change requests for all lines as assigned within the county when no interpretation of coverage issues is required
  • Provide assistance to agents, associate agents, field reps, members, county president, board of directors, and county support staff as needed or assigned, within the current level of training
  • Provide phone coverage, answer questions, and give information to callers, within the current level of training. Route calls to appropriate individual when necessary
  • Begin to attend organizational meetings, as deemed necessary

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Excellent active listening, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a customer-oriented atmosphere

  • Great organizational skills
  • Must work well with others and be flexible to handle numerous duties daily in a professional manner, including assistance to members or customers in the county office as well as on the phone
  • Experience with use of PC, word processing, and spreadsheet software preferred
  • Professional attitude and dress required
  • High school graduate or equivalent required. Prefer a four-year college degree or comparable work experience

Compensation
$15 - $18 hourly
