We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estate Planning Paralegal for our busy, growing law firm. We are looking for an outstanding individual who will handle our estate planning matters expertly with little supervision. You must be a professional, knowledgeable, organized, self-starting, and experienced Estate Planning Paralegal in order to join our team. Our paralegal must be able to perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of one or more attorneys in the office. This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities

  • Enter all data into Wealth Counsel timely and accurately
  • Prepare Trust Transfer Deeds and all corresponding forms
  • File deeds and corresponding forms with the county
  • Review final documents to ensure all names, dates, and spellings are correct and formatting is correct so that the final binder is presented to the attorney for review and to the client for signature free of errors

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Estate Plan drafting
  • An ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate, or Attorney Declaration pursuant to Business and Professions Code section 6450
  • Experience with supervising legal assistants preferred
  • Experience reviewing information from the bank, brokerage, and other financial statements, and interfacing with the related entities to transfer assets into a Trust.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills: be able to prioritize and manage many varied tasks at a time, following through in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and being a team player with independent resourcefulness and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with significant experience in MS Office Suite, including spreadsheets, timekeeping, and case management software
  • Excellent spelling, typing, and grammar skills
  • A track record of timely and professionally connecting and communicating with clients on a regular basis with updates and gathering information
  • A high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in the handling of personal client information, including following the Rules of Professional Conduct
  • A strong work ethic with high standards for quality and production of work
  • Experience managing a team of other professionals, such as legal secretaries or office assistants
  • Licensed Notary Public is a plus

Compensation
$45,000 - $55,000 yearly
