Seeking an Experienced Estate Planning Paralegal – In Person

Mid-Missouri law firm is looking for an experienced, level-headed, A++ paralegal to join our team.

We are an entrepreneurial estate planning law firm that is on track for aggressive growth, and we need an experienced estate planning paralegal to join our team and work directly with the owner/attorney to support the team and help our clients.

We are dedicated to providing our clients with the tools to avoid court and conflict to create a lasting legacy. We are small but growing, and we want members on our team who are compassionate as well as ethical, professional, and trustworthy. You must be committed to excellence, value clients, and want to be a part of something extraordinary. This position is ideal for someone looking for long-term potential and not just a stepping stone.

You help the firm achieve its goals, and it will help you achieve yours. Do you want to be a happy paralegal? Do you want money? Do you want to earn the respect of your peers? Do you want a work-life balance to be with your kids? Our firm wants those things for its team members, too. But you must put in the investment to see the reward. We value family first and have implemented 4 day work weeks. We are open to alternative work arrangements so that our staff can spend time with those they love most.

You must understand that customer service is our number one priority. We truly care for our clients. We want to build lasting friendships so we can support them and their families in the event their loved one gets sick or passes away.

We believe in being organized and proactive. We do NOT deal with “putting out fires.” There are rarely emergencies. This office does not handle contested matters. The only litigation that we handle is simply uncontested probate matters.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

  • General paralegal duties, including supporting attorney and other members of the team as needed
  • Drafting revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and supporting documents
  • Drafting irrevocable trusts and supporting documents
  • Drafting and e-filing uncontested probate pleadings
  • Maintaining calendar, deadlines, and reminders for the team
  • Maintaining files, opening files, closing files, copying, scanning, etc
  • Communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, judges, etc
  • Communicating with clients to gather all relevant information and keep them informed
  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Meeting billable requirements

If the statements below appeal to you, then you may be our next paralegal!

  • You take pride in your work
  • You are an amazing scheduler with a sickening degree of attention to detail. You are very good with calendars, e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, and the internet
  • You do not think scanning and copying are “beneath you”
  • You enjoy getting to know your clients and care about delivering the best work product to them
  • You can juggle and manage multiple tasks without overwhelming
  • You thrive on completing tasks in advance of the deadline. Organization and systems are your love language
  • You are a problem-solver who looks for the best ways of doing things

We love to help people learn and grow. But we don’t have the time for that right now. We need an estate planning paralegal with experience. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding. This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work for 40 hours per week at our office in Rolla. There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.

We value family first and are open to alternative work week arrangements such as 4 day work weeks.
