Fast-growing Fort Lauderdale Bankruptcy law firm is hiring a Remote Paralegal

We help individuals and business owners remove the financial monkey from their backs and open the door to a brighter future. Our law firm is growing rapidly, and we are looking to hire a full-time Remote Paralegal, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Bankruptcy Paralegal.

Please read all the way through, and follow the instructions for applying. Do not apply through this posting service – we will only see resumes sent via e-mail, as instructed at the end of the posting.

Overview
Paralegals perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of one or more attorneys in the office. A Paralegal’s goal is to relieve the attorneys of a portion of the tasks involved in the practice of law. Paralegals are prohibited from practicing law in Florida. All work done by Paralegals must be in support of, and under the direct supervision of, an attorney. In dealing with clients, Paralegals must be careful not to inadvertently slip into the unlawful practice of law. This would include answering client questions about what will happen in their case, making predictions regarding the outcome of their case, or recommending that a client take a certain course of action during their case.

A Paralegal should have completed a course of study offered by a college or university, especially for Paralegals, and should possess a certification as a trained paralegal. Prior experience (5 years in a bankruptcy law firm) is a requirement.

We are looking for an “A+” player with the organizational talent to help us expand our entrepreneurial business. The person we hire will bring a high level of energy, positivity, and a can-do attitude to work every day.

If you are looking for a job that has a wide range of responsibilities, and you want to come to work knowing that your day won’t look the same every day, then this might be the place for you.

The Remote Paralegal position is full-time, so you MUST be able to work 40 hours per week. Some of the benefits include health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, retirement, and PTO.

Please do not apply if:

  • Your middle name is DRAMA
  • Your professional life takes a backseat to your personal life (we are all about balance!)
  • You were distracted by the buzz of your cellphone while you were reading this ad
  • You can’t set priorities and follow instructions
  • You don’t have a sense of humor
  • You think answering the phone or returning calls is an “interruption”
  • You can’t find the compassion and empathy to want to be helpful to our clients and attorneys

Do you think you have what it takes to be our next professional?

To apply and ensure you make a great first impression, please send an email to LSSremoteparalegal2022@gmail.com with your name spelled backwards in the subject line. Include:

  • Your resume, including your work history (most recent first), with all-time gaps explained
  • References (they will be contacted later in the process)
  • Answer these questions in the body of your email: “What are the 3 most important qualities needed for a paralegal, and why?, "What comes easily to you that doesn’t come easily to other people?” and “What distinguishes you from everyone else who will apply for this position?”
  • As a closing sentence, please write “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions.”

If you don’t follow these directions, we will not consider your application because following directions and attention to detail are important for this position.

We will contact you within 10 days if you qualify for the second round of consideration.

We look forward to hearing more about you.
