Boutique matrimonial and family law firm in midtown Manhattan seeks a bright, hardworking, and motivated full-time Paralegal to enrich our legal team’s effectiveness.

The Paralegal must be highly productive, driven, and can work well in a fast-paced, demanding, and professional environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients are a must. Must be able to implement 360-degree management: managing upwards, laterally, and downwards.

Ideal candidates can start as soon as May 1, 2022.

  • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits

The Paralegal’s main role is to contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. The primary duties and responsibilities include managing the calendar (time management), updating client files, drafting correspondence, and assisting attorneys in substantive and administrative tasks as necessary.

Tasks will be 75% substantive legal work, and 25% administrative work. Billed hour requirement of 30 hours/week.

  • Calendaring Motion Briefing Schedules / Drafting Motion Papers
  • Writing legal letters
  • Case law research
  • Closeout packages
  • Invoicing clients every 2 weeks (except clients that are in collections)
  • Ordering transcripts/updating transcript logs weekly
  • Inbound /outbound mail
  • Maintaining client files
  • Office organization/check requests
  • Court appearance reminder notices
  • Closeout letters to old clients
  • Drafting legal letters and initial pleadings
  • Assisting attorneys on substantive drafting
  • Update client matter notes during client meetings
  • Preparing client notes and files for court appearances
  • Assisting attorneys during trial prep
  • Drafting Subpoenas/updating subpoena logs
  • Drafting discovery demands


Qualified candidates will possess exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work in a changing environment, and be personable and professional. Must be able to multi-task and be extremely detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, and communication skills. Must have a talent for grammar and writing.

  • Prior experience in a professional, legal environment (experience in a family law firm is a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A paralegal certificate is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • High proficiency in legal case law research
  • Ability to draft formal legal letters
  • Strong multi-tasking skills; the ideal candidate can manage and complete several concurrent tasks

$60,000 - $80,000 yearly
