We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.  This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work "in the office" for 40 hours per week. Competitive compensation available depending upon experience.  There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.

In the first paragraph explain what you believe are the 3 most important qualities needed in someone who works with immigration law clients and why you believe they are the most important qualities. In the second paragraph, explain why you applied to this particular ad. As a closing sentence please write, “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions.”

  • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
  • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
  • Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Obtain client records to support each individual case

  • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference

$15 - $17 hourly
