Responsibilities
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
  • Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems

  • Work alongside a variety of industry professionals such as real estate agents, title insurance agents, escrow officers, closing agents, settlement agents, law firms, paralegals, and escrow companies throughout the closing process
  • Conduct a title search to prepare a title abstract and title opinion
  • Ensure all legal documents at the county and federal level have been recorded and present deed to new owners
  • Verify ownership, legal descriptions, and restrictions by analyzing liens, maps, public records, leases, plat books, agreements, surveys, and contracts
  • Conduct property search to check for real estate title defects or issues, such as claims, liens, mortgages, deeds, wills, or fraud
  • Follow closing instructions, and verify that all closing conditions have been satisfactorily met
  • Verify all closing documentation, mortgage closing documents, third party orders, closing packages, and signatures are correct in the loan files
  • Collect documentation, review, prepare, and close cash or loan files
  • Perform tasks necessary to clear title requirements, fund the closing of real estate purchase and sale transactions, and confirm all items needed to issue title insurance policies have been met
  • Monitor scheduled closing dates and work with the closing team to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Request funding approval and once obtained initiate disbursement of funds to all necessary parties to the transaction

Qualifications
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • 3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Talented communicator and writer
  • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Requires 3-5 years of title closing experience, abstractor, title examiner, or closing services experience
  • A high school diploma is a requirement, but a college degree is preferred
  • The ideal candidate will be process-driven, highly analytical, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • State license requirements must be met for this position --title producers license is a bonus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential
  • Extremely organized with great time management and analysis skills
  • Candidates must be proficient with MS Office and title software [Qualia Preferred]
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required
  • 5 years of experience with conducting real estate closings from Intake to Post-Closing, including preparing closing settlement statements, clearing title insurance requirements, drafting closing documents, funding transactions, recording documents, and issuing the final policy

Compensation
$50,000 - $65,000
