We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research.   • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
  • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
  • Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed

  • Prepare, maintain, and update physical and electronic case files to ensure efficient organization, proper case management, and understanding of case status by other office employees and attorneys
  • Meet and communicate with clients to gather all evidence requested by the attorney for cases
  • Prepare drafts for attorney review. Drafts can include letters, affidavits, etc.
  • Prepare, package, and mail correspondence to courts and immigration processing offices

  • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education
  • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired

  • Be fluent in Spanish (In order for Candidates to adequately be able to perform everyday duties, they must be fluent in BOTH English and Spanish speaking, reading, and writing) If you are not bilingual, please do not apply
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality and discretion given the nature of the work
  • Strong ability to maintain high standards, use good judgment, act proactively and seek out ways to contribute and anticipate needs
  • Effective communication skills including strong listening skills
  • Excellent team-based interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate well in a team
  • 2+ years of legal service experience under an attorney in a law firm setting is preferred, but not required

Education and Experience Requirements

  • An Associates' degree is a must, a College degree is preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated long-term experience with previous employers

$33,000 - $65,000 yearly
