The Candidate We Are Looking for: We are seeking a full-time paralegal with some experience in estate and trust administration who has an interest in learning how to prepare and prosecute benefits applications with the Department of Veterans Affairs and local Medicaid offices. The successful candidate will be a person with extraordinary compassion and outstanding organizational and communication skills. He or she will work closely with, and assist, our Senior Estate/Trust Administration and Government Benefits Paralegal in providing outstanding results and customer service to our clients.

Position Details: The Estate/Trust Administration and Government Benefits Paralegal works closely with the firm’s Senior Estate/Trust Administration and Government Benefits Paralegal, the Head of the firm’s Planning and Administration Section, and directly with the firm’s clients to:

• Handle the administration of decedent’s estate and beneficiary trusts.
• Support clients in estate and trust administration matters.
• Prepare, review, and file inventories and accountings and shepherd filings through the official approval process.
• Compile information for, prepare, file, and prosecute VA Aid and Attendance and ABD Medicaid benefits applications.
• Contribute to benefit strategy planning and implementation.
• Educate client
• Support other Legacy Elder Law Center team members with subject matter expertise.
• Positively represent the firm at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor.
