The Operations Specialist classification will consist of high potential plant production employees serving in a variety of roles within the operations function. Roles included in this classification include interim supervisor, customer service, and quality engineering. Employees selected for these positions may be rotated from assignment to assignment for developmental as well as operational reasons.


  • Assume interim supervisor responsibilities on an off shift responsible for production, quality, delivery and employee relations on the shift
  • Assist Product Team support members in the planning, communication and execution of production requirements on the assigned shift
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks such as assigned byKRONOS, Metrics Updates, Payouts, etc
  • Communicate and participate in daily housekeeping and work place organization exercises as defined by work area
  • Operate equipment and/or perform assembly functions as necessary
  • Work as a liaison between maintenance, materials, quality and the tool room support functions when confronted with problems or issues
  • In a customer service role, initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system
  • Review customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction, and resources required to correct malfunction
  • Identify and record any product, process and quality system problems. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • In a quality role, utilize advanced quality techniques including: Advance Quality Planning.; Process FMEA;Manufacturing Process Improvement / Continuous Improvement; Statistical Problem Solving Techniques.; D.O.E
  • Coordinate Customer Design Control / QA Functions
  • Resolve Customer Complaints; issues and communication of the results
  • Practice continuous improvement philosophy, and problem prevention type activities
  • Assist in 8-D corrective action response follow-up as required, for problem resolution
  • Provide liaison product support, and interface with customers, suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing on quality related issues
  • Maintain ISO TS 16949 Quality System


  • Five years of manufacturing experience within the York facility
  • A comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of York’s production processes and products
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications
  • Demonstrated leadership and high performance

$45,000 - $52,000 yearly
