We are offering a $225 bonus and an hourly rate increase for all new hires who successfully complete 90 days of employment. Program subject to terms and conditions.

• Position Summary: Performs basic janitorial services in an office or other business setting.
• Classification: Non-exempt, hourly

Essential Functions:

• Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with the scope of work (SOW)
• Attend work as scheduled, maintaining an attendance record in keeping with PBS standards
• Abide by PBS policies and procedures
• Conduct yourself in a respectful and professional manner at all times

• Primary Tasks are consistent with basic janitorial work including but not limited to:
• Removal of Trash (including replacing can liners)
• Dusting of all vertical and horizontal surfaces
• Vacuuming carpets
• Cleaning glass and windows
• Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms (including shower and locker facilities)
• Polishing Mirrors
• Cleaning and changing lights
• Sweeping and mopping hard surface floors
• Cleaning water fountains
• Cleaning baseboards, vents and trash receptacles
• Cleaning blinds, sills and woodwork
• Moving furniture to clean underneath
• Cleaning inside and outside of appliances
• Restocking depleted restroom products
• Straighten and Neaten (Chairs, knickknacks, etc.) as needed
• Monitor outside trash and sweep sidewalks
• Carpet stain removal (spot clean)
• Cleaning ashtrays
• Cleaning elevators
• Cleaning blinds
• Securing building
• Turning out lights and setting alarms
• Cleaning telephones
• Spot clean walls (i.e., handprints removed from around switch plates) Clean exterior areas per SOW

Other Responsibilities - Include but are not limited to:

• Maintain janitor closet and assigned storage areas in a neat and orderly condition
• Keep equipment in proper operating condition
• Reporting Maintenance problems
• Assist project crew with periodic project work as needed
• Assist other PBS employees with building access as needed
• Address customer concerns and SOW deficiencies promptly and professionally

Physical Requirements:

• Employee must be able to perform the primary task of the position
• Employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and crouch for periods of time as the job demands
• Employee must be able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds, with or without assistance

Mental Requirements - Basic mental skills required to include the following:

• Must be able to complete work in a safe manner
• Must be able to follow directions and complete cleaning specifications as written
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must possess the ability to interact professionally with third parties on a site
• Basic customer service skills

Working Conditions:

• Primary work areas will be indoors with occasional work required outdoors. Work sites will vary in nature from light office cleaning to light industrial cleaning in nature

Necessary Equipment:

• Vacuum sweepers, brooms, dust mops, wet mops, mop bucket & wringer, window cleaning tools and chemical dispensing equipment
