Our team is looking for an Oral Myofunctional Specialist!

We are growing and our busy advanced pediatric dental practice would love to add talented, energized, and educated members to our team! This is a unique opportunity in the dental field! This position is a part-time or full-time position. This person would be interested in pursuing a career as a Myofunctional Therapist. You do not have to have any prior training or knowledge in this field; we will train you and help you grow into this position!

Prerequisites include professions in Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Physician's Assistant, Nutrition, Osteopathy, or Dentistry (RDH).

We assess breathing, airway, tongue range of motion, sleep, Temporomandibular Dysfunction, nasal congestion, and more!

• Encompass strong ethical and interpersonal skills and provides excellent screens, client assessments, and develops efficient and high-quality therapeutic treatments in an outpatient setting based on the client’s needs.
• Therapy will be conducted for ages, including young children (3 yrs), teenagers, and adults with a specialty focus including, but not limited to orofacial myology, orofacial myofunctional disorders
• Collaborate easily with parents, caregivers, other professionals, and fellow team members.
• Timely completion of documentation including assessments/treatment plans, daily notes, progress authorizations, discharge summaries, letters to professionals, and other documents as necessary.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements as defined by state regulations for state and national licensures and any additional requirements.
• Provides evaluations and therapy as ordered by the referring doctor and recommends an appropriate treatment program for the doctors' approval.
• Evaluates, plans, and carries out therapy programs, including the establishment of goals for patients as referred and approved by the doctor, with periodic re-evaluations.
• Participates in the in-service training programs.
• Maintains patient care records as designated by the practice assuring that third-party reimbursement qualifications are met, as well as all state/federal requirements.
• Consults with family members, doctors, and other health care professionals as appropriate.
• Participates in interdisciplinary conferences to maintain continuity of patient care
• Community outreach to other healthcare providers.
• Maintains knowledge base of procedures and regulations as well as professional standards through attendance at workshops, in-services, and individual research and reading.
