Since 2009, our counselors have been meeting clients along their path and together have worked towards the lasting change clients are seeking. Responsibilities include providing individual and group mental health counseling, diagnostic evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans with goals and objectives, crisis intervention when needed, and following up with patients to ensure they're getting the best care possible. We also encourage community involvement, seeking opportunities to discuss mental health-related topics and networking.
Our ideal candidate holds a current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license or is exam eligible, is seeking clinical consultation, training, and collegial connection, and is able to work until 8 pm two to three days a week and until 6 pm on the other days. - Assess patients’ mental condition based on a review of medical information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members
- Create individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives for each patient
- Develop and implement one or more counseling groups
- Complete continuing education courses to maintain Illinois state license certification and stay up-to-date on the latest practices
- Continue to refine clinical skills and the quality of counseling provided as a whole and on a case-by-case basis
- Actively address mental health topics/issues within the community
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical ability
- Illinois LPC or LCPC License or eligible to take the licensing exam within the next few months (Non-Licensed Clinicians MUST have a Master's Degree from a CACREP Accredited Counseling Program)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Motivated to advance my career in counseling
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in technology - electronic medical records, scheduling, Mac and iOS.
- Possess self-knowledge
