Sentience Psychological Services, PLLC is a group practice that provides counseling for people who reside in Arizona. At the present time, counseling is offered via teletherapy and in-person.
We have an opening for a full-time counselor. This position is open to individuals who already have an associate-level license in Arizona: Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW). If you have an associate-level license, please apply. You must have a master's degree that is focused on psychological counseling. We are looking for someone who is not independently licensed.
We offer flexible hours in our Central Phoenix office. There are also opportunities to work within the long-term care community setting (assisted living homes, skilled nursing homes), though this is not a primary need at the present time. The client population that we serve is diverse in many ways, including age, gender, religious affiliation, and socioeconomic status. We also provide services for veterans. Our clients present with a broad variety of mental health problems, such as depression, PTSD, and personality disorders.
A benefit of this job is having the opportunity to work with several other clinicians in a small group practice. To learn more about all of the therapists at Sentience, visit: Sentiencepsych.com and Sentiencepllc.com. You will have the opportunity to be trained by a group of Psychologists and Licensed Professional Counselors who are all driven, knowledgeable, professional, and ethical. Most importantly, they are kind and will serve as a mentor for the rest of your career. Individual clinical supervision (with board-approved supervisors) will be offered weekly at no additional expense to associate-level clinicians. Attendance to both group and individual supervision is required weekly. You will be given more supervision than what is required by the board, ensuring that you develop all of the skills necessary to set you up for independent licensure.
While at Sentience, you will learn a variety of treatment approaches. For example, all clinicians are taught Prolonged Exposure Therapy, which is one of the top 3 empirically validated treatments for PTSD! You also have the opportunity to be training in CBT-I, which is treatment for insomnia.
Skills that we look for include having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, intellectual curiosity, good organization, and strong computer literacy.
This position offers a base salary of $50,000 with the opportunity of bi-weekly bonus pay for a total of $60,400 annually. In addition to this, employee benefits include health insurance, accrued sick time, 2 weeks vacation, accrued PTO, and several federal holidays.
