Our Guiding Principles: Our work is guided by Integrity (do what we say we will do), Honesty (be open and honest), High Ethical Standard (evidenced-based practices).

Our Values: Turning Stone Counseling is a values-driven practice that believes in using our values to guide who we are as a team and how we present to our communities. We hire staff who bring these values to life.

Authentic Connection: By embracing our own authenticity we can better help our clients connect to their own authenticity. Relationships that are authentic create the most meaningful experiences to us, our clients, and our community. It’s also a hallmark of Turning Stone Counseling to interact in ways that feel authentic even if uncomfortable at times.

Supportive Listening: Engaging in conversations where others feel supported requires our ability to listen and help clients feel heard. We expect our staff and clients to communicate in ways to support feeling heard.

Creativity: We are committed to thinking outside the box and using creative means to help our clients and community heal, grow, and connect. We know that not everyone learns in a straight path or even by the same means, therefore our clinicians are expected to enhance their work with clients by being creative and meeting our clients where they are in their process.

Growth & Learning: It is our goal that every clinician creates a growth and learning plan to help them work towards being better clinicians. By embracing our growth edges we can be at our jobs, have improved outcomes, and support more clients. We promote continued education for our clinicians through annual training in evidence-based practices so clients can feel safe knowing their clinician is always growing in their skill.

Promoting Inclusion: We promote hiring clinicians of varying backgrounds, beliefs, and specialties to better serve the diverse and unique experience of our clients. It’s also important that our office promotes a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusivity in its culture and practice.
