Our busy and highly successful Psychiatric clinic is seeking a professional, timely, and upbeat Medical Billing Specialist to work in our office! We are looking for someone who is adept in technology, able to work in a timely manner, and able to ensure billing accuracy. Our clinic specializes in mental health and we average only 10 different codes allowing you to become a specialist in billing for the mental health field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay will be $20-$22 an hour based on experience, with a % of billing as a bonus.
1 In-House Full-time Position available.
- Work through several spreadsheets and learn codes specific to mental health
- Track tasks and invoices, enter insurance data and collect payments
- Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance providers
- Apply correct coding to clinic notes as appropriate
- Ensure claims are processed accurately based on the provider’s insurance
- Present self and the clinic in a professional clean manner
- Interact with patients in a friendly manner and contribute to a positive experience
- Respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of patients
- Professional Dress: personalized office scrubs
- Proven work experience in medical billing
- Medical coding is preferred, but not required
- Find and correct inaccuracies
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent communication skills (with patients, co-workers, and insurance companies)
- Team player
- Fast learner for our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
