Summus Healthcare is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to support our Diabetes and Endocrinology clinic in Weatherford, TX.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

• Record patient vital signs including body temperature, respiration rate, blood pressure, and pulse, and add the information to their chart
• Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with the healthcare staff
• Make sure examination rooms are ready for patients by ensuring they’re well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and that all equipment is sterilized
• Welcome patients to the office, take telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer questions about treatment or prescription refills to ensure an excellent patient experience
• Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records
• Obtain blood samples from patients and sent them to the laboratory for testing following directions from supervising staff

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to use a computer to complete administrative tasks
• Prior experience in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or a similar position in a healthcare work environment is preferred
• Strong communication skills and customer service skills
• Bilingual
