Responsibilities
- Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized
- Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records
- Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
- Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff
- Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office
- Perform in office EKGs (training provided if needed)
- Patient education
- Uploading patient imaging to the PACS system and returning all disk imaging back to the patient promptly
- Assist patient will form completion during the appointment or immediately following
- Complete provider assigned tasks efficiently and communicate completion.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to use a computer to complete administrative tasks
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills
- Previous experience as a medical assistant performing administrative duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment is preferred
- Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting
Compensation
$35,000 - $39,000 yearly
