We’re looking for a reliable holistic medical assistant to work directly with our Doctor of Oriental medicine / functional medicine practitioner and help us provide first-class care to our patients. You’ll greet people when they come in, take patient histories, collect test samples, and assist with examinations, all while building an excellent rapport with our patients. • Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
• Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment
• Discuss patient information, medical history, and the reason for their visit to share with the healthcare staff
• Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office
• Obtain blood samples from patients and sent them to the laboratory for testing

• 1 year of prior experience as in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or similar position in a healthcare work environment
• High school graduate or has GED
• Solid communication and customer service skills
• Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare setting
• Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
