Are you interested in building your career, a flexible schedule, and competitive pay? We’re hiring a Materials Yard Switcher to join our team. You’ll be responsible for moving dressed axle front & Rear products for Freightliner. Trucks must be moved and loaded according to the schedule and in time to satisfy the customer’s delivery requirements.
The candidate’s job will include moving materials of front and rear dressed axles and switching trucks in the local yard. Be proficient reading bills of material and possess a valid Class A CDL License
- Operators may also be required to run various pneumatic tools and hoists.
- A job function may include jobs associated with minor maintenance and material handling of front and rear axles.
- Operators must provide their own small hand tools as required by the Team.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping at all times.
- Be an effective team member and help other operators within the Team when needed. Working as a team member is essential to the successful operation of the Team.
- Operators may be asked to perform more than one function per day to assist material flow.
- Exhibits exceptional communication skills and time management skills
- Delivery driver or related job experience preferred
- Must have graduated high school or received equivalency
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) a plus
- Valid U.S. driver’s license in your state and clean driving record required
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Constant standing and movement (bending, stooping, lifting) to perform the various functions required to move front & rear axles and brake components. Use of overhead hoist or lift truck will be required in making some setups as well as the use of air tools. Exercise sound judgment in reacting to problems inherent to the process.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will occasionally work with sealants, cleaning fluids, spray paint, oil on parts, and noise. Working in and around an 18-wheeler cab. The work area is air/heat conditioned.
