Market 8 is hiring an SEM Manager to join our Growth Optimization team.

Location: Remote - Must have equipment & infrastructure to work 9-5 EST

IN A NUTSHELL
The SEM manager focuses on driving growth for our clients and the company through paid search and social channels. Responsible for conceiving, evaluating, championing, and executing growth funnels that drive tangible results for our client base. 

You will need to absolutely love diving into the numbers, and developing keyword maps.

The SEM manager will have control over all of the levers to execute the funnels he devises, from keyword research to ideation and creation of the offer, campaign setup, ad creative, conversion landing page, workflows, and conversion tracking. They should be very comfortable coordinating efforts with other team members, copywriters, designers, and contributing at a strategic marketing level.

A successful SEM Manager will be able to work independently to complete his tasks while understanding how his work fits the whole picture and communicating the results of his work. Execution, results, communication, and teamwork are the keys to success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • For SEM, the candidate will manage PPC, Display, and Paid Social campaigns, and make recommendations to optimize the conversion performance of landing pages to maximize the return on ad spend
  • Can you test? Optimizing will require you to test your assumptions instead of going with your gut all the time. You’ll define testing plans across campaigns and suggest landing page testing options
  • Are you analytical? You will need to absolutely love diving into the numbers, and developing keyword maps, keyword topical clustering, and develop strategies to improve traffic and rankings for critical keywords
  • You'll also need to gain a deep understanding of campaign performance, and providing campaign performance updates and insights, setting and analyzing KPIs and traffic reports
  • Can you write excellent English? You'll often need to be pretty hands-on optimizing pages, and executing internal links choosing the proper anchor texts... and everybody can perceive if something just sounds weird
  • You’ll also work in parallel with other team members running other conversion optimization programs on the same accounts, including designers and developers, to ensure Market 8 delivers exceptional results to clients
  • Are you accountable? You'll need to own your metrics, attribution, and reporting of KPIs on traffic and conversions
  • You will monitor progress and take corrective action as needed while maintaining productive working relationships

  • To be successful you should be VERY organized
  • Creating & optimizing campaigns across the digital landscape Facebook AdWords (Search, Display), Youtube, LinkedIn, Twitter
  • Continuous A/B testing & ROI optimization
  • Implementing programmatic advertising campaigns
  • Exploring other digital channels & new media (blog networks, native advertising)
  • Ad copywriting, testing, and campaign optimization
  • Define campaign testing plans before implementing
  • Use SEM automation and alerts to focus energies on higher value-added activities.
  • Setting up and optimizing Google Analytics goals and tracking/conversion pixels.
  • Setup and optimize landing pages to maximize conversions

Metrics and Analytics

  • Collaborating with the growth marketing team & providing data insights, interpreting results, and presenting them to the team and clients
  • Extensive reporting & data analysis based on metrics that matter; conversions, clicks, CPC, quality score, test results & learnings, attribution. 
  • Setup growth and budget goals, and report on progress every month.

Client Relationships

  • Work with the client in virtual meetings
  • Handle multiple accounts and report results monthly to the client
  • Write compelling, accurate and grammatically correct strategies

Communication and collaboration

  • Communicate regularly via email and slack to keep the team and clients up to date.
  • Experiment with tools in the stack to get the most value/productivity.
  • Stay up to date with the latest changes and trends in SEM.
  • Work with a cross-skill team on complex business problems to drive growth.
  • Know SEO enough to collaborate with the SEO expert to drive the right long-term acquisition strategy.

Qualifications

Preparation 

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration/Marketing is preferred
  • A strong understanding of online space is required
  • Two years minimum experience with a track record of driving tangible success for clients through SEM, lead gen
  • Proven track record collaborating with a remote team
  • Ability to design and learn from experiments

  • Looked as a leader by peers
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and maximize throughput

  • Has earned certifications outside of school to further career
  • SaaS experience (worked for a SaaS company or in a SaaS company)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, data-analysis-related field
  • Knowledge of SEO

The following is preferred but not necessary:

  • Knowledge of HubSpot CMS
  • Experience in e-commerce (B2B, B2C) and/or marketing SaaS is a plus
