This role includes marketing, event support, and community outreach support for SECORCares, a faith-based, nonprofit free-food market working to eliminate suburban poverty in Douglas, Arapahoe, and Elbert counties of Colorado.

The marketing intern will assist in implementing SECORCares fundraising endeavors, events, social media, and marketing. This position works closely with the Community Outreach Coordinator and Director of Philanthropy.


  • Support the development team, including social media, marketing, community outreach, mailings, and all fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating special events such as the annual gala and golf tournament.
  • Work closely with the Community Outreach Coordinator, Director of Philanthropy, and staff.
  • Support SECOR through communication, digital, and advertising strategies.
  • Design marketing materials including website content, social media posts, and other collateral that is creative, polished, and on-brand.
  • Regularly update social media and respond to followers.
  •  Manage website content, mailing lists, SEO development, and tracking analytics to ensure all content is up to date and relevant.
  • Attend events as requested, representing SECORCares to the communities we serve.

  • Must possess excellent project management skills, creativity, refined communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Has knowledge in nonprofit development and marketing.
  • Must be a goal-driven “self-starter” who responds well to feedback.
  • Highly organized and exhibits “follow through” and accountability for all duties.
  • Displays a positive attitude, shows concern and compassion for people, demonstrates trusted presence, self-confidence, and common sense.
  • Familiarity with web platforms, email systems, social media, public relations, and brand identity.

$15 hourly

SECORCares is a nonprofit faith-based organization that serves the residents of Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert Counties of Colorado who are struggling with suburban poverty. Through our free food market, guests are able to shop and put food on their tables, without concern for payment. Programs like a Family Like This, Food for Thought, Community of Hope, and others are empowering people on their journey to self-sufficiency.
