We are seeking an experienced Managing Litigation Attorney to oversee and manage our organization's litigation matters. As a Managing Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal expertise, strategic guidance, and leadership in all aspects of litigation, including managing litigation cases, supervising a team of attorneys, developing litigation strategies, and representing the organization in court proceedings.

Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Oversee and manage all litigation matters for the organization, including assessing and evaluating legal claims and disputes, developing litigation strategies, and representing the organization in court proceedings. Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including outside counsel, to ensure effective and efficient resolution of litigation matters.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of attorneys and other legal staff, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback. Assign and delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor progress. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and promote professional development and growth within the team.
- Legal Advice and Counselling: Provide legal advice and counseling to internal stakeholders, including senior management and other departments, on litigation-related matters. Assess risks and opportunities, develop strategies, and provide recommendations to minimize legal exposure and achieve favorable outcomes.
- Case Preparation and Representation: Prepare and draft legal pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents. Represent the organization in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and arbitrations. Conduct legal research, gather evidence, and prepare witnesses for testimony. Negotiate and settle cases as appropriate.
- Legal Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify and assess legal risks, opportunities, and trends. Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents related to litigation and provide guidance to ensure compliance.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage litigation-related budget and resources, including outside counsel fees, expert fees, and other litigation expenses. Monitor and report on litigation-related costs and expenditures and implement cost-effective strategies while maintaining quality legal representation.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all litigation matters, including case files, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents. Ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements for record-keeping and documentation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Bar. Must be Licensed in RI & MAS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of litigation laws, rules, and procedures, including civil litigation, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective legal strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of attorneys and legal staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent the organization effectively in court proceedings and other legal forums.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in legal research, case management, and document management software.
