Managing Attorney- Estate Planning & Elder Law

We are Jarvis Law. These are just a few things we are looking for in our newly created role, Managing Attorney. Due to growth, we are adding a Managing Attorney to our leadership team. 

We are an elder law and estate planning law firm that provides peace of mind for our clients. We also provide Medicaid Crisis Planning when someone is facing a tough decision to put a loved one in a long term care facility; we also help our clients with the estate administration and probate process; perform special needs planning and more. We have offices in Dublin, Lancaster and St. Clairsville, Ohio.  

Responsibilities

As the Managing Attorney at our firm, you will have the opportunity to be a mentor and coach to our staff, as well as train on and ensure best practices are happening and implemented on a daily basis. You will be the ‘go to’ technical expert in estate planning, estate administration, probate and more. You also still enjoy meeting with clients and designing their estate plans.

 

In a nutshell, is what you will do:

  • Conduct client design and funding meetings. 
  • Supervise the review of all estate planning documents before final signing in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, asset protection, Medicaid and Veterans Applications, and other long term care planning documents. 
  • Serve as in-house legal expert for staff and clients and develop consistent training plan. 
  • Ensure proper workflow and operations of the office. 
  • Ensure compliance with established systems and procedures. 
  • Facilitate seminars & workshops. 
  • Handle attorney employee issues and concerns in accordance with established policies in conjunction with the Executive Director, holding attorney staff accountable for timely and quality work.
  • Work with the leadership team to make recommendations to improve operational efficiencies.

Education & Experience We’re Looking For:

Juris Doctorate degree from accredited school of law with license to practice law in the state of Ohio with L.L.M. in Taxation preferred and/or CELA helpful but not required. At least 5-7 years’ estate planning, elder law, estate administration and long term care planning experience required. Prior supervisory experience required with strong knowledge of Ohio Medicaid laws and Veterans Benefits.

Compensation
$100,000 - $135,000 plus significant bonus opportunity for meeting KPIs
