We are looking for an experienced litigation legal secretary for our D.C. office. The legal secretary will provide direct support to busy attorneys. The secretary also works closely with the attorneys’ assigned billing specialist and participates in the firm’s paperless office initiative. This is a full-time (40 hrs. per week), non-exempt position.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing tasks such as revising and finalizing correspondence
  • Maintaining attorney calendars
  • Entering time, managing the conflicts
  • Check process for new matters
  • Coordinating meetings
  • Maintaining case files, e-filing court documents – both federal and local
  • Table of Authorities and Table of Contents formatting
  • Other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate must have:

  • At least five years of solid litigation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong writing and grammar skills
  • The ability to multi-task and work within deadlines, and accurate typing of 65+ wpm
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the firm's document management program
  • FileSite, as well as its time and billing system Aderant, is a plus
  • Qualified candidates must be able to work in a team environment, as well as adapt to changes in workload and job responsibilities
