We are looking for responsible individuals with a passion for food and hospitality who can provide our clients with an exceptional dining experience. Our restaurant is busy, and we need competent and experienced line cooks. Our line cook must be adept at working a variety of stations on any given shift. You need to be a team player, follow direction, effectively communicate with other kitchen staff, and be efficient.   • Maintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulations
  • Prepare food orders on the line by cooking items to order, grilling, broiling, sauteing and meet all presentation guidelines and follow standard recipes
  • Recognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste management
  • Assemble a system of food stations and fill them with everything they need for the shift
  • Ensure that all interactions with visitors, vendors and colleagues are conducted in a professional and friendly manner

  • Preparation of fry/sauté cooking surfaces, grills, or ovens
  • Portion and preparation of food items including fish, steak, chicken, pork, veal, etc., as prescribed by company specifications
  • Preparation of sauces and/ or garnishes as required by company specifications related to specific menu item
  • Cooking all food items as prescribed by company specifications
  • Cleans food preparation equipment
  • Performs related work as is assigned and as circumstance requires

  • Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED
  • Previous experience working in food service is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and other team members
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in food preparation work
  • Experience in sauté/fry cooling
  • Experience in fire starting and fire control
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law
  • Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Possess a valid TABC Server License

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold

$13 - $20 hourly
