Our busy law firm is looking for a billing specialist who loves digging into detailed work that can help our billing attorneys revise, process, and issue accurate billing every month in a timely manner. Experience in accounts receivable and consistent follow-up is a plus! Job seekers should have at least 2 years of billing experience with the billing process, be meticulous and organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities
  • Run accounts receivable reports to keep track of past due accounts and follow up on payment
  • Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and keep accurate financial records
  • Make sure any billing inquiries are resolved by working with the client’s accounting department
  • Revise invoices in accordance with attorney requests and prepare final bills for mailing

  • Process our client's credit card payments and help ensure we have current credit cards on file

Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are needed in this role
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is helpful
  • Able to produce a high quality work product while handling multiple projects
  • At least two years’ experience working in a law firm environment as a billing specialist
Compensation
$19.50 - $20.50 hourly

Our firm is the outside legal department for seven and eight figure professional service firms. We focus on proactively representing businesses and protecting them from the wide variety of risks they face. This includes estate and tax planning, equity structures, intellectual property, drafting and reviewing contracts, resolving disputes, hiring and firing employees, and all the non-legal issues that come up along the way.


We sell our serivces on a subscription model, and when clients need work outside those carefully defined scopes, we create value-priced proposals so our clients know what they're paying before we actually do the work. We're not selling services by the hour.


Our employees typically work from home using systems that were in place well before COVID. We still need to meet each other and clients in person though, so we maintain a professional office. We generally meet in person about 2-4 times per month.
