Boutique family law firm in the Galleria area of Dallas looking for the perfect match in a superior Legal Administrative Assistant with at least 2 years' prior experience in a family law firm for immediate hire.

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (includes an hour lunch break)

Compensation: $15 - $18 per hour, commensurate with experience

Overtime: Eligible

Benefits: Paid holidays (immediate), Vacation/Sick (eligible @ 90 days), Insurance (eligible @ 60 days).

Start date: Immediate

  • The answer, screen, prioritize and place telephone calls appropriately; Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, attorneys, paralegals, court personnel
  • Accurately notate messages and forward messages to appropriate Firm personnel; record messages in Firm’s case management software
  • Collect initial required information for potential new client intake and conflicts checks
  • Maintain reception area, conference rooms, and kitchen
  • Greet guests upon arrival
  • Collect, log and disseminate incoming mail
  • Prepare/order refreshments for meetings, mediation, and settlement conferences
  • Order and distribute lunch as needed
  • Assemble informational packets for potential new clients
  • Assemble welcome packets for new clients
  • Open office daily
  • Provide basic clerical support for all Firm members as needed
  • Prepare a wide range of documents, correspondence, pleadings, reports, letters, and forms in both draft and final form in a professional and accurate manner
  • Monitor, prioritize, organize, facilitate and follow direction relative to the daily workflow for attorney, paralegal, self
  • Maintain firm conflict checklist; Perform conflicts checks and follow up with new potential clients;
  • Maintain case management/tracking database; capture potential new client/client information
  • Set up and maintain the integrity of file management systems, including classifying, arranging, retrieving, and storing information in both electronic and hard copy formats; Perform file opening procedures; Assist with the closing of client files in a thorough manner pursuant to the Firm’s closing and document destruction policy
  • File court documents, including e-filing
  • Monitor case dockets, court calendars
  • Manage calendars; Schedule appointments; Track deadlines and time-sensitive tasks
  • Enhance office efficiency through following and improving processes and procedures
  • Maintain firm contact lists
  • Assist with marketing mailings
  • Make meeting arrangements, preparations
  • Maintain cleanliness of office, kitchen, conference rooms
  • Order office and kitchen supplies
  • Process mail appropriately
  • Revise attorney dockets weekly post-docket meetings

  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with clients, attorneys, court personnel, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to work under the direction of all Firm members and be willing to contribute by performing any task needed to support clients
  • Ability to exercise high levels of discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity, and integrity
  • Knowledge of basic legal terminology, processes, documents, cash flow
  • Attention to detail; Robust writing, grammar, and proofing skills
  • Highly organized; Ability to multi-task proficiently
  • Proficient in e-filing
  • Ability to exercise high levels of discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity, and integrity
  • Follows directions, Firm policies and procedures
  • Experience with Clio a plus
  • Has 2-3 years experience in a law firm environment required; family law experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat; must type at least 75 words/minute
  • Able to perform sedentary desk work as well as duties requiring standing/bending/stooping; able to lift 20-25 lbs
  • High school diploma required, college degree a plus

$15 - $18 hourly
