We are looking for an inspired, ethical, and relentless mortgage professional to join our top-producing team. This person has a mix of TRID knowledge, disclosure and closing capabilities, and leadership/management skills. Help us build our back-end mortgage process and be an integral part of the production team.

Role

Oversee the loan disclosure and closing process from loan origination to post-closing. You will coordinate all aspects of the disclosure and closing process and ensure that files remain in compliance at all times. You’ll be responsible for making sure loans are compliant with GSE and government regulations, company policies, and industry standards. You will provide pipeline reports to the VP and ensure all closings stay on schedule.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions Responsibilities

You will be responsible for preparing all disclosures and closing documents utilizing BYTE and IDS and ensuring that they are accurate in order to have a fully compliant mortgage loan. This includes carefully reviewing all documents for any errors and confirm that dates, fees, and programs are accurate.

You also act as the intermediary between all parties in closing a real estate transaction, including:

  • Creating and sending preliminary disclosures within TRID timeline requirements
  • Monitoring fee changes and changed circumstances and re-disclosure as needed
  • Coordinating with production team and settlement agents to answer questions, resolve issues, and send Closing Disclosures
  • Communicating with settlement agents to balance transactions and provide closing packages for signing
  • Working with production team and settlement agents to schedule closing appointments
  • Reviewing all closing details to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You also make sure that all terms of the loan are met and work with settlement agents on any outstanding closing conditions required to fund the loan
  • In the QC vein, you will be reviewing CD’s, LE’s, Disclosure history and identifying compliance violations and cure tolerances
  • Finally, you will be funding the loan and handling all post-closing collection of documentation in order to complete the process
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of residential mortgage disclosure/closing experience
  • Experience with BYTE and IDS strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, USDA, FHA, VA, and State Housing lending guidelines and requirements, first/second liens, home construction/improvement, and home equity loans
  • Ability to work as a team player, maintain a positive attitude, listening comprehension skills, laser-focused attention to detail and organization, sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow, multitask in a deadline-based environment
  • Leadership and management experience is preferred
  • High school diploma required, college preferred

The Lead Document Specialist must be detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication, phone and customer service skills. They must be calm and stable under pressure. They must have strong computer skills and proficiency with loan industry software, in addition to a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. They must have current knowledge of loan documentation procedures and have solid math and calculation skills.

Compensation
$45,000 - $60,000 yearly
