Pettis Webber Pacific P.S.

We are a fast-growing elder law firm in Vancouver, WA, looking for an All-Star Salesperson (also called our Solutions Specialist or Client Engagement Specialist) to help the firm always put its best foot forward for potential new clients.

We are seeking a bright, creative, empathetic, and compassionate person of high integrity who can convey the value of our services to potential clients and enhance the client experience. You will work closely with other members of our team to develop and maintain relationships with clients and referral sources. You will help us realize our vision of helping more people!

The position will entail both sales and customer service responsibilities. Prior sales and customer service experience are required because we can teach you how a case progresses, but we can’t teach you how to care about the person needing planning and protection.

This position is only for all-star salespeople who can sell legal services and cultivate new relationships to generate new leads. We provide training in what you need to know to best help our clients. This salesperson doesn’t give legal advice, so the legal experience is not required. For the right person, this will be a highly rewarding position personally, professionally, and financially.

Our firm helps individuals live with greater joy and liberty from fear as they age. We are looking for someone who truly understands:

  • how overwhelming the thought of getting older, losing capabilities, and living without control of your life is to most people;
  •  that the role of a law firm is not “to be impressive” and is not about ego, but is about having the humility to listen actively, respecting and valuing others, seeking at all times to bless client lives with not just excellence in advising but exceptional client experiences;
  • that estate planning is not transactional but rather a dynamic service in which life-changing plans are crafted through building authentically caring relationships with those we serve

If you think estate and elder law planning is just “forms” or is just “transactional,” then do NOT apply. We do not believe life or aging is a transaction or formulaic.

We are here to guide and empower our clients through the largely unknown maze of possibilities in law to protect and facilitate the best experience for them and those they love with quality estate and elder law planning.

If you decide to apply and follow all of the instructions, our process includes written interviews and a phone interview before meeting face-to-face. If you do not wish to complete a written interview, please do not apply.

Compensation depends upon experience and qualifications. Benefits include bonus opportunities, paid holidays, paid time off, health insurance coverage, and the option to participate in our retirement savings plan with employer match. If you are looking for a high-energy and positive team environment with lots of growth potential, then look no further. Compensation is a combination of base salary plus incentive pay. The base salary range is anywhere from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client consultations to sell legal services
  • Oversee the smooth transition of new cases to the legal team
  • Follow up with potential new clients who have not yet retained us
  • Maintain a tracking system to monitor leads, new clients, and referral sources

*In accordance with the ethical rules governing lawyers, this team member will NOT provide legal advice, quote a fee that has not been authorized by the attorney, or sign an engagement with a client. Rather, the employee will prepare prospective clients for entering into an engagement with our office and the contract will be signed by an Attorney.

Qualifications

Do NOT apply if you come from the school of thought that making a sale is all about what you can “get” from a prospect or what you can “talk them into.”

  • Understand that sales are all about educating and serving the needs of prospective new clients, helping them understand their options, and make courageous decisions to empower their future, NOT about showing off or a high-pressure game
  • Understand how to genuinely build an ongoing relationship with a client
  • Practice highly skilled active and dynamic listening
  • Show the ability to interact with different types of personalities
  • Authentically show empathy, compassion, and understanding to potential new clients and put them at ease during a difficult time
  • Know how to close a sale by revealing the real urgency and value
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both over the phone and in writing
  • Think on your toes and not get discouraged when things don’t go as planned
  • Be willing, able, and excited to quickly learn about new topics (like the Medicaid system)
  • Treat a call or meeting at 4:30 pm on a Friday with the same care and compassion as one on a Monday morning
  • Follow instructions and understand the importance of policies and procedures
  • Be a team player with a can-do attitude who consistently acts with positivity, respect, and integrity
  • Be tech savvy (we use specialized cloud-based software)
  • Demonstrate fire and ambition, NOT excuse-making “clock-watching” and hiding under your desk while waiting to be told what to do all day long
