We're seeking a Land Use Professional who will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of Construction Permit Plans, Specific/Master use Plans, Housing Elements, Zoning Code updates, feasibility yield studies, and adaptation and resiliency projects. The position will also support our team through the analysis of environmental impacts resulting from planning and development projects. The candidate must have experience in SEATTLE land use/community planning, be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. You will be involved in our projects from beginning to end, not just a small portion of a bunch of projects.


  • Project management position managing the entire project
  • Assist with the preparation of construction permit Plans, Community Plans, Housing Elements,  Specific/Master use Plans, and/or other comprehensive planning documents
  • Assist with the preparation of zoning codes, permitting policies, and/or development standards, with a particular emphasis on housing
  • Conduct research, provide develop recommendations on land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation to guide community development
  • Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate public involvement and consensus-building meetings
  • Review plan sets for consistency with local codes and regulations
  • Permit expediting with City of Seattle departments in particular
  • Prepare drafts of technical memoranda, meeting minutes, transmittals, presentations, and other written materials
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction to our public and private clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)


  • BA/BS degree or higher in urban planning, geography, or a related discipline
  • Possess 2+ years of related demonstrated experience in SEATTLE land use planning, land development/entitlements, urban design and/or environmental planning
  • Knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices and techniques of planning
  • Excellent communication, organizational, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to form and maintain effective client, interagency, and internal team relationships
  • Must know Land Use Codes
  • Should have knowledge of the permitting process in Seattle if possible


  • $80-$90k (or dependent upon experience)
  • Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits of which employee portion is 100% covered
  • 401K (After 6 months)
  • Profit Share (After 1 year)
  • 10 days of PTO per year (or dependent upon experience)
