Our law firm has a full-time junior attorney position available now and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date.   • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
  • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
  • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action

  • Our new Associate Attorney will be a hard-working team player responsible for many aspects of a client's case on an as-needed basis
  • Responsibilities may include communicating with clients and other counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending court hearings, mediations, and conferences, and preparing for and attending trials

  • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
  • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
  • Successful completion of the bar exam

  •  Must be a good standing member of the Texas Bar
  •  2+ years experience in Family Law
  • 1+ years experience in litigation
  • You should be a self-starter, quick learner, and have a solid ability to work both independently and with a team
  •  Creative problem solving, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize are important
  •  Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a sickening degree of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiar with Apple products, i.e. Mac
  • Have solid computer and time management skills
  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in the handling of personal client information, including following the Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with high standards for quality of work
  • Be able to interact with our clients, colleagues, and co-workers in a compassionate, personable, and professional manner
  • Ability to report accurate time daily in the firm’s case management system, per the firm’s policies

Skills and experience are required, appreciated, and valued, but personality, character, intelligence, and integrity will be paramount considerations. High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals will not succeed in this position and need not apply.
